About the Business

Oh, Baby Gee.

The tiny but mighty 4th Street bar has rightfully earned itself a reputation as the best in the city. With a team that has never been more astute at somehow executing owner Gianna Johns’s massively complex creations on the fly for rowdy crowds that rarely disappear, Baby Gee continues to collect the accolades.

Baby Gee Bar has had many reasons to celebrate—they’ve been recognized not just once but four times by the coveted and prestigious Spirited Awards, while co-owner and lead bar maestro Gianna Johns scored recognition from the respected Star Chefs earlier this year—but when it comes down to it, they’re a Long Beach bar through and through.

“It is beyond humbling to read about us getting these recognitions, but the reality is that someone from L.A. is reading that very same thing? It isn’t going to convince them to drive to our bar on a Wednesday night," said co-owner Daniel Flores. "We’re doing this for Long Beach. Long Beach is our patronage. Everyone is always welcome—but Long Beach is where the heart and home are for us.”

And then you have Gianna herself. Never more confident in her ability to eschew pretense while harboring complexity, taste, and nuance, this seasonal menu showcases a wild breadth of what is undoubtedly Long Beach’s second cocktail renaissance.

Baby Gee Bar is a gem, yes—but a goddamned Long Beach gem.
