Baby Gee Bar has had many reasons to celebrate—they’ve been recognized not just once but twice by the coveted and prestigious Spirited Awards while co-owner and lead bar maestro Gianna Johns scored recognition from the respected Star Chefs earlier this year—but when it comes down to it, they’re a Long Beach bar through and through.

“It is beyond humbling to read about us getting these recognitions but the realty is that someone from L.A. reading that very same thing? It isn’t going to convince them to drive to our bar on a Wednesday night," said co-owner Daniel Flores. "We’re doing this for Long Beach. Long Beach is our patronage. Everyone is always welcomes—but Long Beach is where the heart and home is for us.”

Their 2025 summer menu? It showcases the bar’s candid ability to stretch from the accessible to the esoteric. One of its most robust menus to date—nearly 20 cocktails and mocktails grace the menu—it showcases the confidence and ability of owner Gianna John’s well-oiled machine of bartenders.

And then you have Gianna herself. Never more confident in her ability to eschew pretense while harboring complexity, taste, and nuance, this seasonal menu showcases a wild breadth of what is undoubtedly Long Beach’s second cocktail renaissance.

Baby Gee Bar is a gem, yes—but a goddamned Long Beach gem.
