For many Long Beach residents, La Taqueria Brand-7th St. has become one of those dependable neighborhood spots where a craving for birria or a towering plate of carne asada fries is quickly satisfied. What began as a local taquería has grown to multiple locations —restaurants on 7th Street, inside SteelCraft Bixby Knolls, at LBX Hangar, and beyond—including Garden Grove and Wilmington—while maintaining an emphasis on approachable Mexican comfort food.

The restaurant has built much of its reputation around its birria offerings, embracing the style that has exploded in popularity over the past several years across SoCal: birria de res. Slow-braised beef is folded into crisp quesatacos, served alongside rich consommé for dipping, or transformed into everything from burritos to birria ramen. While birria may be the menu's headline act, Taquería Brand doesn't stop there. Carne asada remains another cornerstone, particularly in the form of its generously loaded carne asada fries—a Southern California staple piled high with grilled beef, melted cheese, guacamole, sour cream and fresh toppings that has become one of the restaurant's most sought-after comfort dishes.
