Bixby Provisions is bringing back pre-pandemic vibes with its gastropubby inaugural menu. Being one of the newest restarutans in the city—it sits in the former Wood & Salt space and abruptly rebranded as Bixby Provisions—owner Björn Risse wants one thing: For folks to come in and explore the menu.

Spanning an international-fusion, gastropub-style menu—blood orange and beet salads and lobster mac’n’cheese sit next to tacos and spring rolls—the space is meant to feel lived-in. And, most importantly, Bixby Provisions is for the neighborhood.

“We feel like this is, yes, approachable, but really quality food that has a bit of something for everyone,” Björn said. “I genuinely believe it’s a menu worth exploring… The kind of menu where you want to try something new with each progressive visit. We’ve expanded our beer and wine offerings. Have some select cocktails. It’s kind of a choose-your-own-adventure menu that can be for casual or celebratory occasions.”

What to expect? Fried asparagus stalks. French dips. Buffalo-drenched cauliflower bits. Doused-in-Parm Caesar salads. Björn’s goal is quite straightforward: comfort food and an international menu meant to evoke casualness as much as it is worthy of a date.
